Practical Chic

In 2000, Jill Brahms started her line of silver jewelry armed with a strikingly original silver cuff bracelet and a dream to adorn woman and men with sculptural jewelry. Soon after, she won a reputation for innovation, quality, and uniqueness in the jewelry world. Her debut jewelry collection was sold in both Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Her jewelry has graced the covers of national magazines and is worn by celebrities. She is known for her natural, flowing silver and organic shapes.

An Artistic Upbringing
Born to a family of a long line of artists and musicians, including the famous classical music composer Johannes Brahms, Jill Brahms’ childhood was focused on fine arts and innovation. She spent her childhood summers attending the world-renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts studying music, sculpture, ballet, and modern dance.
The Merging of Art and Science
After completing her Mechanical Engineering degree, Brahms began her professional life as an Engineer, where she focused on airplane design for Boeing. A burning desire to start her own business in a creative field led her to making a drastic career switch, launching her own jewelry collection. Although engineering to jewelry design seemed an unlikely progression, Brahms believes that art, math and science are closely related and involve very similar thought processes. Says the designer, “Engineering taught me, among other things, to conceptualize three dimensional objects in my mind’s eye before they exist and then to exactly replicate that vision through sculpture. I can also visualize how all of the jewelry components fit together and how each design should be manufactured. Jewelry design incorporates everything that I know and enjoy in life - art, mathematics, fashion, sensuality, business … My life’s work to this point has lead to the formation of this jewelry collection,” Brahms exclaims.
Love Relic - A New Pursuit of Passion
In 2007 Brahms teamed with Love Relic to design its debut collection of symbolic sterling silver jewelry. “Symbols are a pure representation of a person’s passions, beliefs, and philosophies on life. I couldn’t be more thrilled to design jewelry for Love Relic, showcasing these traditional symbols with a natural, organic sensual quality. My goal is to take these ancient symbols and put a fresh, modern twist on them, like nothing anyone has seen before.”
