Knives, Swords and Daggars are making a splash in designer silver jewerly these days, as we see here on Mary-Kate Olsen.  Mary-Kate actually wears two of these protective amulets in this photo.  Here she is earlier this week promoting her new film, “The Wackness” at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.  Just last month, Lindsay Lohan was spotted with a daggar dangling from her wrist.

Janet Jackson was spotted earlier this week at the Industry Night launch party at Priva Las Vegas wearing some massive forward-facing silver hoop earrings.   Janet’s new album, “Discipline”, is launching in February.

The Kings of Leon like their silver cross jewelry. The ridiculously photogenic band were loaded up with silver jewelry during a recent performance we spotted on Austin City Limits. The three Nashville-bred brothers and their cousin have invented a sophisticated style of Southern Indie Rock. This is the best family band we’ve seen in a long time. Now we have yet another reason to love Nashville.

Even though they are gold, we had to report on the Sydney Airport sighting of Kylie Minogue today. She is dressed in all black with a pair of microscopically thin hoop earrings, about 2.5″ in diameter (everyone is wearing that size hoop lately). Notice there is a tiny charm hanging off each hoop. Our prediction is that the silver charm hoop earring is going to be a huge trend in 2008. You heard it here first, people.

Holly Robinson Peete looked amazingly cute in a pair of disc-shaped silver earrings with a whole in the middle (these are sometimes called forward-facing hoop earrings), and a designer silver necklace with 4 circle-shaped charms to the premier of The Business of Being Born documentary. We don’t usually suggest piling on big earrings and a necklace simultaneously, but we’re glad she did.

Mary J Blige performed at the GM Celebrates A Night of Cars and Stars show yesterday, in a pair of giant silver hoop earrings. The silver hoop earrings are a staple of Mary’s jewelry uniform lately. Work it Mary!

Last week’s Golden Globes may have been cancelled due to the writers strike, but the free goodie bags for the celebs were in full swing. Actress Natasha Henstridge was seen recently at the 2008 World Experience DPA gift lounge sporting an eye-catching designer silver necklace featuring a random assortment of silver elipses. Beautiful!

Natasha Bedingfield wore her usual armloads of silver bracelets on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus at CES. She mixes up her look by combining the thick 1″ silver bangle bracelet, studded leather and silver cuff bracelet, and a woven bracelet. Very cute and casual.

In his usual style, Johnny Depp piled on the silver necklaces for his journey to Japan for the Tokyo premier of “Sweeney Todd“. Here he is getting off the plane at the Tokyo International Airport. It must have taken at least 45 minutes to unload all of his neckware to pass the metal detector test. This layered necklace look works for him.

Silver cross jewelry sighting! “Heroes” actor Thomas Dekker and the cast of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicals“gathered for a little meet and greet earlier this week. Here, Thomas is wearing a matching set of silver cross necklaces with a matte texture. We’re not sure if Thomas has a thing for the wife beater shirt, or if he is trying to emulate the uber-buff Linda Hamilton circa 1984 in the original Terminator movie.
